The country’s health system is facing limited resources, and during the recent crisis, due to the high volume and simultaneous visits to hospitals, the ability to respond effectively to all patients and visitors, especially in the first days and weeks, was not enough, which will cause more problems if it continues. . The fact is that health facilities, equipment, human resources and financial resources have a certain ceiling.
On the other hand, due to the fact that the hospitals’ capacity was directed towards Corona, other departments, including non-emergency and elective departments, were almost closed, because non-coronavirus patients did not go to hospitals due to the fear of contracting Corona, and this led to a decrease in revenues. Private hospitals and the decrease in the percentage of hospital bed occupancy and the hospitals faced with financing problems became very high.
In this meeting, the economic challenges facing the health system during the Covid-19 pandemic were discussed.
